The best of nature and art
Julia Contacessi’s creations are designed to add color and warmth to the areas where they're displayed. Many of her most recent works are on display in several galleries throughout Connecticut. Escaping Light, for example, is a combination of texture and some metallic paint. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Patricia Larson and Helen Frankenthaler, Contacessi allowed the work to reveal itself organically, layering loose, watered paint with translucent colors to build up color intensity and create a fluid feeling.
